The honest caveats: Points redemption value varies significantly by property tier — a Waldorf Astoria redemption can feel poor value per Point compared to a Hampton Inn, so it pays to calculate cost-per-point before booking. The program's co-brand credit card ecosystem (primarily with American Express in the US) is excellent for accelerating Point-earning, but if you're not a cardmember, earning speed is slower than rival programs. And while the Best Price Guarantee is a genuine benefit for direct bookers, claiming it requires submitting the competing rate within 24 hours of booking — a step that's easy to miss.
