I own the Sony WH-1000XM5 and I was curious whether the AirPods Max were worth the extra €170. After one week I sold the Sonys. The ANC is marginally better in the AirPods Max but the real revelation is Transparency Mode. On the Sony it sounds like listening through a microphone — a processed, slightly artificial ambient sound. On the AirPods Max, it sounds like you removed the headphones.
