Affiliate Disclosure

Full transparency on how Price & Pick earns money, why those earnings don't influence rankings, and how we maintain editorial independence across 1,400+ products tested annually.

⚡ TL;DR

The short version

Price & Pick earns affiliate commissions when readers click links on our site and complete a purchase at the retailer's website. This is industry-standard for review sites and at no extra cost to you.

Crucially: commissions don't influence rankings. Our gold-medal winner on Best of 2026 earns roughly the same affiliate rate as products that didn't win at all. Brands cannot pay for placement, period. Read our complete testing methodology for full context.

How affiliate links work on Price & Pick

When you click a "Buy" or "Shop" button on any of our reviews, awards, coupon codes, or buying guides, you may be redirected through an affiliate tracking link before landing on the retailer's website (Amazon, Best Buy, Apple, Lululemon, etc.). If you complete a purchase within a tracking window (typically 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the retailer), Price & Pick earns a small commission from the retailer — usually 1-8% of the sale.

You pay zero extra. The price you see is the price you pay. The retailer simply shares a portion of their margin with us as a referral fee, the same way a real-world store might pay a sales agent.

What gets affiliate-linked

What is NOT affiliate-linked

01

No paid placement

Brands cannot pay to appear in our reviews, awards, or rankings. Period. Editorial decisions are made by our 14-person team based on testing alone.

02

Equal commission rates

The gold-winning product earns roughly the same affiliate rate as the products that didn't win. Commissions don't shape rankings.

03

No kept gifts

We buy products with editorial budget or return loaner units after testing. We never keep brand-supplied gifts — that's non-negotiable.

04

Transparent disclosure

Every page that contains affiliate links discloses it (footer disclosure + this page). You always know how we earn, and what to expect when you click out.

Why this matters — the editorial firewall

The product review industry has a deep credibility problem. Many "review" sites are essentially affiliate marketing operations dressed up as editorial. They write only positive reviews. They rank products by commission rate. They never call anything bad. That's not what we do.

Price & Pick was founded on a simple principle: the reader's interests come first. Always. Even when it costs us. We've passed on six-figure brand sponsorships because they conflicted with editorial independence. We've demoted award winners after 6-month follow-ups exposed quality drift. We say "this product isn't worth the money" even when affiliate revenue suggests otherwise. Read our complete testing methodology for how we structure this.

The way affiliate revenue is supposed to work: it's a byproduct of helpful recommendations, not the driver of them. We help readers make better decisions. If those recommendations turn out to be useful and you buy through our links, we earn a small fee. The order matters: usefulness first, monetization second. Never the reverse.

What this looks like in practice

Our commitment to you

Every recommendation on Price & Pick is the result of our team's actual testing — buying products with editorial budget, using them for weeks or months, scoring them across our 5-dimension rubric, and writing what we genuinely think.

If we ever break that commitment, we want you to call us out. Email us via the contact page with the specific page or recommendation you think violates our standards. We read every message. We'll investigate. If you're right, we'll fix it and credit you.

The reader's interests come first. That's the entire business model. Browse our methodology or our 2026 award winners to see this principle in action.

FTC compliance & legal disclosure

Price & Pick complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, which require clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections between content creators and the brands they review. This page constitutes our complete disclosure.

Specific disclosure language that applies across our site:

"Price & Pick is an independent product review website. We may earn affiliate commissions when readers click through links on our site and complete purchases at the linked retailers. These commissions support our editorial team but do not influence our rankings, recommendations, or scoring. Read our complete affiliate disclosure for full transparency."

This disclosure language appears in our footer on every page, in the disclosure section of every review, and in summary form before any "Buy" button. Readers are never asked to consent to affiliate tracking — we use industry-standard tracking that you can opt out of via your browser's privacy settings or our privacy policy.

For questions about our specific affiliate relationships, our editorial decisions, or to report a concern, please contact our team. We respond to all inquiries within 24 hours on weekdays.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about how we earn money and maintain independence.

Do affiliate commissions cost me extra?

No — never. The price you see at the retailer is the price you pay. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer to us out of their existing margin. You pay zero extra for clicking through Price & Pick links instead of going to the retailer directly.

This is how affiliate marketing works across all reputable review sites. It's similar to how a real-world store might pay a referral fee to a sales agent — the customer's price doesn't change.

Do affiliate commissions influence your rankings?

No. The gold-winning 2026 award winners earn roughly the same commission rates as products that didn't win at all. Our scoring is based on our 5-dimension rubric (performance, build quality, value, customer service, editorial X-factor) — not commission rates.

If commissions influenced rankings, we'd recommend whatever pays best, not whatever performs best. We don't, and we've turned down brand partnerships that asked us to. Read our methodology for how this is structured.

How can I tell which links are affiliate links?

Every page on Price & Pick that contains affiliate links has a footer disclosure stating so. Generally: "Buy" buttons, "Shop" buttons, and brand-direct links from review and award pages are affiliate links. Internal navigation, references to other publications (The Verge, CNET, etc.), and links to our own pages are NOT affiliate links.

If you want to bypass affiliate tracking entirely, you can manually search for any product on the retailer's site directly. We'll earn nothing, but you'll get the same product at the same price.

Do you accept paid sponsorships or sponsored content?

No. We do not accept paid sponsorships, sponsored articles, paid product placements, or any form of "pay-for-coverage." We've turned down significant six-figure offers that required editorial concessions.

The affiliate model lets us stay independent while remaining a real business. Brand sponsorships would compromise that independence — so we don't do them. Read our complete editorial standards on the about page.

What happens if I think you've violated this disclosure?

Email us via the contact page with the specific page, link, or recommendation you think violates our editorial standards. We read every message and respond within 24 hours on weekdays.

If your concern is valid, we'll investigate, fix the issue, and document the change publicly. Our methodology page tracks all editorial corrections and methodology updates over time.

Where can I read more about your editorial standards?

Our complete editorial standards are documented across several pages: About Us covers our mission and history, How We Test details our methodology and scoring rubric, and this Affiliate Disclosure explains how we earn revenue without compromising rankings.

For specific questions or to request more details, reach out via our contact page. We respond within 24 hours on weekdays.
